Story of Priscilla
every student, every day.
Priscilla began her career as an 8th-grade resource specialist teacher at a highly regarded public school in Diamond Bar, California. She provided intensive reading interventions, pull-out services, co-teaching, and managed a caseload of 28 neurodivergent students. As Head of the Special Education Department at a middle school serving around 1,200 students, she developed a strong foundation in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RtI), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Her experience also included ensuring compliance with best practices in a litigious state, supporting students with diverse needs, and leading complex, multidisciplinary teams. Priscilla carries these years of hands-on classroom experience into her advocacy work, using them to inform and guide her approach to supporting all learners.
As a third-culture kid, Priscilla always dreamed of raising her own children overseas. In 2013, she moved to the Philippines and took on the role of Student Services Coordinator at Brent International School. During her time there, she focused on fostering a sense of belonging by empowering students to advocate for each other. She also collaborated with organizations like the SENIA Youth Club and Best Buddies Philippines, working to ensure neurodivergent students felt included and supported in the school community.
Priscilla believes that the best faculty training she ever facilitated was the one planned and delivered by Brent’s very own neurodivergent students. This empowering experience not only showcased the unique perspectives of the students but also highlighted the impact of student-led initiatives in creating a more inclusive and understanding school culture.
Serving on the SENIA Executive Board during its foundational years was one of Priscilla's most impactful leadership experiences. She worked alongside dedicated, high-functioning teachers who consistently put kids first, no matter the challenges. Priscilla often reflects on this experience through the words of Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Now serving on the SENIA Advisory Board, Priscilla firmly believes that SENIA is truly changing the world, one student at a time.
Recognizing the profound impact that leadership and school-wide systems have on inclusion, Priscilla joined the International School Leaders of Educational Support (ISLES) board as the Director of Membership Experience. In this role, she advocates for building leadership capacity and system-level expertise within international schools.
As Director of Student Support Services at Ruamrudee International School in Thailand, Priscilla focuses on expanding the school’s capacity to support all learners. This role has provided her with extensive experience leading K-12 support programs, including English Language Development, Learning Support, Counseling, and Child Safeguarding.
Driven by a passion to help every student thrive, Priscilla transitioned into consulting with Grace&Grow. Her work allows her to leverage her skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise to support schools in creating inclusive, student-centered environments where all children can succeed.
All of Priscilla’s work stems from a seed God planted in her heart when she was just 14 years old. During her formative years, her niece was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder. This experience gave Priscilla a firsthand understanding of the challenges and rewards families face. By her senior year of high school, she was already advocating for neurodiversity on her campus and volunteering in her community. That early commitment to improving schools for differently-abled children has remained a constant throughout her life and continues to guide her every decision and career path.
